Dr. Shubham Purkayastha

Dr. Shubham Purkayastha is a Consultant - Gastroenterologist practicing in Guwahati. He did his initial Gastroenterology training from the Department of Gastroenterology - G.B. Pant Hospital , New Delhi. He went on to complete his 3 years DM- Gastroenterology from Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna.

He has done his MBBS from Gauhati Medical College and MD(Internal Medicine) from Assam Medical College- Dibrugarh. After completion of his specialization he worked as a senior resident in the Department of Gastroenterology - Gauhati Medical College.

He was recognized as a member of the American College of Gastroenterology in 2020.

He is an active academician with multiple publications in Journals of national and international repute like Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology and The Indian Journal of Gastroenterology.

He is specialized in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, billiary tract, pancreas and digestive disorders and procedures like Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP etc.

His special area of interest include Dyspepsia, Endoscopic procedures, IBS, IBD, Fatty Liver diseases, Pancreatitis, Jaundice, Cirrhosis and Alcohol related liver diseases. He has treated patients from Assam, West Bengal as well as all other North eastern states along with international patients from Bhutan and Bangladesh.
