Dr. Shubham Purkayastha is a Consultant - Gastroenterologist practicing in Guwahati. He did his initial Gastroenterology training from the Department of Gastroenterology - G.B. Pant Hospital , New Delhi. He went on to complete his 3 years DM- Gastroenterology from Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna. He has been a member of American College of Gastroenterology since 2020. He is an active academician with multiple publications in Journals of national and international repute like Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology and The Indian Journal of Gastroenterology.
I want my patients to be able to make informed decisions about their treatment, rather than feel lost or confused. So I encourage questions and I do my best to explain them thoroughly.I base my treatment on the recent guidelines and published literature, so that the best evidence based treatment options are available to my patients. I work in tandem with surgeons, radiologists and other specialists to provide the best management for my patients, be it medical, surgical or endoscopic.
